Official Entry Information
An official entry form, fee, manuscript or outline (3 copies) and a video (VHS/CD/DVD) of sermon must be submitted to be part of the preaching competitions. The preaching competition will be judged prior to the convention. Our goal is to encourage young men to develop and utilize their preaching abilities for God.
Topic
All contestants must title their speeches MYSTERY based on Colossians 1:27 and develop such to reflect this theme.
General Rules for the Category
1. Be concise. The speech is to be from 8-10 minutes. Points will be deducted for exceeding the time limit.
2. You must present your message to a live audience. We suggest your congregation or youth group.
3. An adult sponsor must supervise the message.
4. Once the presentation begins, there will be no restarting. If any mistakes are made, you must continue on with your message. Edited tapes will be disqualified.
5. The 2009 convention theme MYSTERY based on Colossians 1:27 must be incorporated into your message.
6. Entrants are free to speak from notes.
