Why is it called the Tennessee Christian Teen Convention (a.k.a. TCTC) ?

The Tennessee Christian Teen Convetion (TCTC) was formed in 1983 by a group of youth ministers who had the dream of pooling the resources of statewide churchs to create an event bigger and better than any one church could do alone.  They decided to call it the Tennessee Christian Teen Convention, because it was a convention in Tennessee for Christian teenagers.

Where is TCTC?

TCTC is held at the Gatlinburg Convention Center in Gatlinburg TN in the midst of the Great Smoky Mountains.

When is TCTC?

TCTC is held during the first or second weekend of each year.  In 2010, the convention will be held January 8-10.

How much does it cost to attend the convention?

The price per person to register for the convention depends on when you register.  The Super Early-bird rate is $45/person and is available until October 15, 2009.  The Early-bird rate is $55/person and is available until December 3, 2009.  As long as you register by January 2nd, 2010 you'll pay $65/person.  After January 2nd, you'll need to wait until the convention to register at the On-site rate of $75/person.  Both the Super Early-Bird and Early-Bird rates include a complimentary convention t-shirt along with great savings.  All registrations cover the cost of everything we do in the Gatlinburg Convention Center.  It does not include food, housing, or any extra-curricular activities you do on your own.

How do I register for TCTC?

The easiest way to register is online.  You can simply click the 'Register' button in the upper right-hand corner.  You can also find instruction there on how to register by mail.

Do I have to pay for adults?

Yes.  We strive to keep the cost low for everyone and spread the cost evenly across all participants.  Many groups choose to charge their students extra to cover the registrations for their adults.  Others simply have their adults contribute, too.

Do I have to be a part of a Christian Church to come to TCTC?

Absolutly NOT!!  TCTC is a part of the Restoration Movement...What this means it that TCTC encourages ALL denominations that put their faith in Jesus Christ to spend the weekend in fellowship and worship.  Last year at TCTC we had 4500+ people from over 130 churches that included 4 different denominations.  Praise the God of UNITY!!!

Do I have to be from Tennessee to attend TCTC?

NO WAY!!! Even though this event began by and for churches in Tennessee, God has done some amazing things to encourage Christian unity.  There are churches from 7 different states who worship together in Gatlinburg each year.  Again, we are a convention in Tennessee for Christian teenagers.

What should I expect when I come to TCTC?

The vision of TCTC has always been to reach out to the curious, call out the casual, and encourage the committed.  What this means is that every TCTC will challenge students to go further in their spiritual journey.  We do this through God-centered worship, drama, workshops, and speakers.  You will also see different things during the weekend... We have anything from comedians to dancers that minister to students on stage.  We do this to show that God can use all talents and abilities to spread his Word.  You will always see students on stage sharing the talents and abilities they've been given.  These students typically come from the TCTC Competitions we hold each year.

If you have any questions we can add to this page, please email them to our TCTC TEAM and we will do our best to answer them.
