TCTC '08 Supported Missions
During the January 2008 TCTC convention, we announced that the convention's missions offering would be going to support two different projects.
One of these projects is Invisible Children. If you went to the workshop about Invisible Children during the convention, you heard a lot about what Invisible Children does to help kids in war-ravaged parts of Africa. You also would have heard how many students here in the U.S. are reaching out to help the needs of their fellow students, who just happen to be in another country. TCTC supported Invisible Children by giving half of the missions offering ($11,723.26) toward their work with Lacor Secondary School in Uganda. If you would like to find out more about this organization, go to www.invisiblechildren.com.
Another project supported by the other half of our missions offering this year is Dunamis Ministries. Dunamis is an organization working with Apache Native Americans in Show Low, Arizona. TCTC is supporting Dunamis in two ways. First, part of the missions offering is going directly to Dunamis itself to help with ongoing projects. Secondly, TCTC is sponsoring a group of teens headed to Show Low in the summer of 2008. To find out more about Dunamis Ministries, go to www.dunamisaz.org.
